A woman allegedly attacked an advocate of the Bangalore Mediation Centre in connection with a divorce case on Monday afternoon. Padmapriya, an MBA graduate married Sharavanan, an HR Professional in a private firm in Hyderabad.

She had married Antony Vimalraj in 2007.

When Sharavanan came to know about her earlier marriage, he filed a divorce petition, before the family court and it directed couple to consult mediation centre.

While mediating in the case, J G Chandra Mohan, advocate representing Mediation Centre, asked Padmapriya about her first marriage and told her that it is against the law to marry another person without getting divorce from her first husbqand. Angered by his questions, she assaulted Mohan in front of everybody.

Later, Mohan registered a complaint against Padmapriya in Wilson Garden Police station and following his complaint, her father registered a counter complaint against Sharavanan and his family members for assaulting them. According to the police, Padmapriya had lodged dowry harassment cases against Vimalraj and Sharavanan in Adugodi and Frazer Town police station limits. She also planned to kidnap Sharavanan and was sent to jail for six days. Wilson Garden police have registered a case.
