Women Can use Father's Name; Children can use Mother's name in Documents

In the modern age of regressive judgements and policies, there is a ray of hope for some positively progressive resolutions. The Maharashtra State Government has issued a resolution that empowers women to have an option of using their father's name or husband's name in all the official documents.
An official release from the Women and Child Welfare Department on Monday has asserted the government resolution. While women are empowered with the choice of using their father or husband's name, children will now be able to use the mother's name.
The resolution has come in accordance with the third women's policy, 2014, that has been cleared by the state cabinet in March this year. Therefore, if any woman faces problems in exercising the choice, she can complain to the concerned district collector.
In case of children, they can now mention names of both the parents, or either of them, in the documents, the Resolution said.
