Councillor's husband held for rape

The husband of a municipal councilor has been arrested for allegedly raping a Delhi Police head constable. Ramesh Pehalwan, whose wife is a councillor from south Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur, was arrested on Saturday.
Sources said the 43-year-old woman, a head constable with the Delhi traffic police, had filed a complaint with the Hauz Khas police station.
"On the basis of the complaint submitted by her, we arrested Pehalwan. The woman has alleged that Pehalwan has been raping her for the last few years," a senior police officer said.
Police sources said that Pehalwan and the complainant knew each other since 1994. Further investigations in the case are on.
