NRI woman accuses brother of rape in Rohtak

A 28-year-old man has been booked on the charge of raping his real non-resident Indian sister. The accused has been identified as Parveen Kumar, a resident of Mokhra village of the district, who also has a house in Sector 2 of the town.
Deputy superintendent of police Virender Singh said the accused has been booked under sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
The 32-year-old victim had come from Italy on vacations to India on March 28 and was staying at her brother's residence in Rohtak.
The victim, who was rushed to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) here around midnight on Friday by a distant relative, told police that her brother Parveen Kumar came on Friday night and administered her some intoxicants in the cold drink before committing the crime.
The victim told the police that when she tried to resist the accused, he took her at knife-point and raped her. She said after committing the crime, the accused administered her some poisonous substance and fled.
Later, she hired an autorickshaw from Sonepat road and reached PGIMS for treatment. The victim, who was married in Ranila village of Bhiwani district had emigrated to Brassia in Italy some years ago with her husband. Her second brother also works in Italy.
The doctors at the PGIMS brought the matter in the notice of the police and cops recorded her statement on Saturday morning. A team of forensic experts also visited the hospital.
Till the filing of the report in the evening, the victim was yet to be medical examined.

DSP Virender Singh said, "We will be able to say anything on the issue once the accused is arrested and thorough investigation is done into the case.”
