Wife, paramour held in Kerala man’s murder
Mohandas’ body was found at Anavathil near Kalamassery in Kochi
Thiruvananthapuram: Police in Kerala are piecing together the mystery behind the murder of an employee of the Deshabhimani newspaper, with the arrest of the deceased man’s wife and her friend.
Local media reports say that Seena, wife of the murdered P.K. Mohandas, and her friend Girish were taken into custody in Kochi and that have confessed to the crime.
Mohandas’ body was found at Anavathil near Kalamassery in Kochi on the night of December 2.
His motorcycle had earlier been found on the roadside around 8pm, but police had not been able to trace him. The body was found in the bushes nearby when police returned to search again for Mohandas.
When the autopsy showed that it was not an accidental death, and that the cause of death was a deep wound in the neck, police then investigated the case. His mobile phone and some money had been lost from the site where the body was found, but the gold chain around his neck had not been taken.
This, too, prompted the police to suspect that the murder was not for money.
