Depressed over missing wife, Haryana's ex-minister dies

The 75-year-old leader died on Sunday after reportedly being depressed over the loss of his wife and relatives who went missing in landslides and flashfloods that hit Uttarakhand last month. Tejinder'e efforts to trace his wife and relatives proved futile and left him in a shock.

The former minister's wife Pushpa, 72, had gone to Uttarakhand along with her brother Jasbir Lamba and his wife Veena on June 13. After the calamity in Uttarakhand on June 16 and 17, Tejinder tried to contact his wife and relatives but was unsuccessful. He even hired a private helicopter to look for them but could not find them.
Presuming Jasbir and Veena to be dead, their family decided to perform the religious ritualson Sunday in New Delhi where Mann was present. After the ceremony, Mann went to stay with his younger son Ranbir. He complained of chest pain and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Tejinder was cremated at Karnal on Monday.
