Cop held for molesting kids, torturing wife
MUMBAI: A 50-year-old constable attached to the Marol police station has been arrested from Bhayander for molesting his daughters and torturing his wife.
Raiba Shinde's wife filed a police complaint on July 31 in Karad, where she was living for the past year. The complainant stated that Shinde was frustrated as he did not have a son and would molest his daughters, one of whom is now married.
She stated that Shinde would torture her and ask her to get money from her parents for a car. She stated that Shinde suspected her of having an affair and even disowned the younger daughter.
Shinde was remanded in judicial custody till September 2.
The case was transferred to the Bhayander police station. After investigation, the police arrested Shinde from his Bhayander residence.
He was booked under sections 498 A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 354 (molestation), 292 (sale,etc.,or obscene books,etc.),509 (insulting the modesty of women), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
