Boy killed for exposing mother's illicit affair
TNN | Jun 13, 2013, 12.36 AM ISTKARUR: A 15-year-old boy was hacked to death by his mother's alleged paramour because he reported the illicit relationship to his father, police here said.
According to police, there was an earlier attempt to murder the boy, studying class 10, when he was knocked down from his motorcycle. But, the boy managed to escape with bruises. However, in the second attempt that took place on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, the boy was hacked to death in the presence of his shocked uncle whose pillion he was riding.
The ghastly incident took place at Chinnatharapuram at Karur district where the boy's father Rajendran, 45 runs a brick kiln. Police suspect that Rajendran's wife Prema, 40, was having an illicit affair with one Neethi, 35, who hails from the same area. The boy did not take kindly to Neethi's moves and they came closer to fisticuffs many a times. He reported his fights with Neethi to his father who recently had a major argument with him. Since then, Neethi was looking for an opportunity to teach a lesson to the boy.
On Tuesday, the boy had gone for a family function along with his uncle Ravichandran on the latter's motorcycle. They were returning late in the night and when the vehicle neared a culvert in the woods, Neethi, who was waiting in the bushes, knocked them down. Before the duo could take any precaution in less visibility, Neethi hacked the boy indiscriminately with a farm sickle. A flabbergasted Ravichandran gained strength and reported the matter to the Chinnatharapuram police who rushed to the spot. In the meantime, the boy was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, but the doctors there declared him brought dead.
The incident created a flutter in the area and the police are investigating further.
